I have been vegetarian & than Vegan for 40 plus years. So the recent innovations with Vegan fake meat type products -that look & taste like the real thing I have mixed feelings about. I am happy they exist for newcomers to the Vegan world because they help with the transition…. The prices are high, and the nutrition value low…. When you haven’t eaten meat for decades it is a little freaky having stuff in your hands that look, smell & taste like the real thing.
I am trying to figure out what I was thinking to spend $25 on 4 small bags of different flavors of vegan jerky. It may be too realistic for someone like me.
I am happy this product is low in fat, has potassium & fiber in it. It is gluten free & has non-GMO soy in it. Happy with the lack of chemicals & preservatives in it. If you are a camper , hiker, on a road trip, traveling etc… I could see buying it again. For just snacking at home -for over $5 a bag-there are so many other things I would rather eat!!
Does it taste good? It is difficult for me to call something so meat like as being “good”. It tastes like a salty meat. I wish this was less realistic & more starchy and maybe I would enjoy this product.
