I get the veggie-rich dishes at Firestone when my omni partner wants to grab food there. This salad has the basics (lettuce, tomato, red bell pepper, red onion) with a unique twist—pine nuts! The nuts were my favorite part. Be sure to order it without cheese. I also chose no dressing. Unfortunately, there seems to be some cross-contamination, so although they can accommodate by removing ingredients to make some dishes vegan, I ended up consuming two bacon bits and a piece of feta before realizing they made their way into the container. It’s always a risk at non-vegan spots, so it’s good to learn what places are more cautious and serious about things. I’m ready for a vegan future! #veganisnotscary

Pine nuts always make things better for sure! I agree about the cross contamination…I love going to “build your own” kinda restaurants, where you pick it all out, but hate how carelessly & quickly some workers are about throwing ingredients together, enough to have shredded cheese in my dish for example. I tend go during slower hours to keep it from happening with my food as much. I’m ready for the rest of the world to get on 🌱 board as well!
