So my girlfriend and I set out with our tiffin carrier/dabba today to look for economy rice only to find that the lot of them we actually like, or those that actually had vegan options, were all closed 😔 So eventually we somehow landed here to give their “chu char” (煮炒) menu a try. At the restaurant, we definitely weren’t the only ones 😄 Quite a number of other people were queuing with their food boxes to takeout food - if anything I’m glad to see that the Penang Buddhist vegetarian community is so eco-conscious.

This was great and for RM12 was a pretty good portion. I served us both for lunch and dinner. It’s a serving of huge blocks of #tofu stewed/fried? with bits of black fungus, celery, baby corn, and carrots in some black bean sauce. Tastes great, so I can definitely recommend it 😋 The restaurant is also currently doing discounts where of your cumulative total on receipts exceeds RM150, you get a discount. #supportlocal #takeaway #takeout #veganin2021 #tiledreview
