The idea being this cake is wonderful, and the presentation flawless. But unfortunately the cake did not live up to its looks. The icing tasted like pure sugar - there was no citrus tang or creaminess like you would expect from a carrot cake icing (I know it’s vegan, but replicating “cream cheese” frosting is perfectly doable). The batter itself was lovely and moist but also lacking a certain flavour.
Considering the R60 per slice fee I was overall quite disappointed. A real shame for a place that usually puts so much effort and time into their food.
