Shabestan's location is perfect. Across from the river and with a cool shade from the trees if you are sitting outdoor enjoying a lazy lunch on a weekend.
First up there is a separate vegan menu which was great. After enjoying the dishes for lunch, the discussion turned to how there aren't too many vegan dessert options in middle-eastern cuisine. The staff then helpfully came up with an off-menu item, the tasty sholeh zard, a #saffron rice pudding garnished with pistachio and pomegranate.
So moral of the story: ask and you may get your vegan or veganized dessert!!
