Melts rather well, but not the same as animal cheese, I find the taste to be unpleasant. It's rather sweet and kind of weird tasting. On a certain level it's somewhat nauseating. It tastes a bit better when eaten raw but still has that weird and sweet taste. Some people might like it, but I won't buy it again.
