Trying to find a vegan-friendly birthday cake in a supermarket can be difficult, so I was pleasantly surprised to see ASDA providing the goods. This novelty avocado chocolate cake is a throwback to the cake you used to get in party bags - it’s chocolate sponge is indulgent and rich, which a chocolate cream through the middle and old-school fondant icing is super sweet and delicious. It was a pretty basic cake, but was in no way lacking any of the indulgence you get from a non-vegan birthday cake.
