🍛 Again I’m astonished I have not reviewed this already here. The vegatsu is their #katsucurry with a #tofu 🫛and #soy #protein patty. It might be seitan then; I’ve seen others write. This then is the better choice nutritionally to get more protein I guess, but I prefer the yasai katsu which is slabs of veg like 🍆aubergine, butternut, and 🍠sweet potato fried. This is great too and I guess it just depends what you are wanting. Fab there are two vegan 🌱versions of this but I read online that they might be stopping the vegatsu which would be a shame. I wish you could opt for a brown #rice 🍚to make this healthier. The salad 🥗comes with a great #japanese 🇯🇵style dressing I love and is very nostalgic. Actually you can also make all the katsu spicy 🌶️for 50p more. Don’t mistake hot for warm ♨️like I did once, doh! 🤦‍♀️ I was so confused that I had to pay extra to have it heated one time in the airport. Maybe I was sleep deprived. Argh! £15 They always serve free green tea here which is generous. Wagamama are so🌱 #veganfriendly but we miss their sticky ribs and the ramen that went with it. The fussy French also can’t stand how all the dishes come at different times, it’s noisy, and the seating is uncomfortable at benches like a cafeteria. It’s rare I can drag him here then. Their new Soul Club is good value with some free food though which he can’t get on his ancient phone. Argh. 🙄

🍆🍠I don’t think I’ve reviewed this which is crazy as it’s probably my favorite dish here. This is perfect for when you are craving fried food. #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease There’s a fried butternut squash, sweet potato and eggplant/aubergine. The #katsucurry sauce is yummy and there’s a generous portion of white🍚 rice. I wish you could opt for brown rice to make this healthier. The salad 🥗has some pickled veg on it and a great #japanese salad dressing I used to love in Japan. I regularly crave this dish. These #noodles were only ok. They didn’t impress with flavour or with texture. I think some big blocks of tofu or tempeh would have been nice to boost the protein in this dish. Still a fan of wagamamas for having so many vegan options.

Reviewing these for my omni boyfriend doing veganuary: He ordered these for delivery so they might have been better fresh, but even knowing that he was not impressed. He found it bland and that the main source of flavour were the sauces on top, rather than the k-dog itself. Kudos for originality but this missed the mark for him. We are still fans of Wagamamas but won’t order these again. #korean #corndog #fusion

🍜 A special #ramen for #veganuary2025. It has their #veganchicken which is really good, roasted🍆 #aubergine, #ricenoodles in a warming #gochujang broth. Then there’s sesame sprouting #broccoli 🥦and lots of things with chilli to heat you up. 🌶️ I loved this ramen! It’s a limited edition so get there in the next couple weeks before it’s gone. 💷£14 📅January 2025

🍜🍋‍🟩 I don’t think I’ve tried this or reviewed it before. It’s supposed to be a new and refreshed recipe as well. This #padthai was nice with a wedge of lime to make it fresh. I’d been craving pad thai for ages. 🇹🇭 This is not the best one I’ve had but it was decent. We also got another main for free with their new soul club which is tough to argue with. My partner gets so annoyed here as I always seem to get my food first and then he has to wait for 5-10 minutes for his food to arrive. I offered to share mine of course but he wasn’t interested. 🇮🇩Apparently this is a collaboration with an #indonesian chef which made me want to try as I have an Indonesian student this year. It’s a #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease fried firm #tofu 🫛that’s been coated with red pepper 🫑and 🧄garlic. Then some #coconutrice 🥥🍚on the side as well and pickled slaw and a mild 🍅tomato sambal. I would have liked a little more heat actually. The sauce was also yummy. I’ve earned a free main dish on their soul club but it didn’t work to pay with that. A #sweettooth friendly dish. 😋This is a new one that I really liked while my partner grumbled it wasn’t as good as the vegan sticky ribs they’ve discontinued. 😕 it’s also a #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease treat. We went for #yuzu and it’s got an #agave syrup for the sweet kick and then it’s #friedchicken with a vegan mayo on the side and some pickled veg for garnish. Yum. 🫛🌽 This is very original with #edamame and #corn in #fritters. It’s like a savory kind of crepe or pancake. There were maybe three little pancakes with some #springonion #chilli 🌶️and red pepper powder. It was inventive and nice but I wouldn’t order again. #veganlondon #londoneats 💷£6.50 📅September 2024

🥓 I thought I would try one last time and that third time would be the charm. No. At least I wasn’t turned away this time when I turned up at 10:45. The server was nice. I explained how I ordered this last week and it came without mushrooms. He said they had trouble with their supplier last week. When it arrived though it still had no mushrooms. 🤯 I called him back and he looked at the menu again like maybe something is not matching from the menu to the kitchen. They added these #mushroom 🍄‍🟫which look out of a can to me, no? I didn’t forget to ask for #sriracha mayo this time and the #veganbacon was yummy with the #bao bun. It’s a shame as this is a really nice #breakfast bun but I’m fed up with them getting everything wrong here. For the first meal of the day on a weekend I don’t feel like being a policeman 👮needing to check that I’m getting what I pay for. Big sigh. #veganlondon #londoneats 💷£6 📅September 2024

🍵 This time they had the #matcha #latte unlike my first visit for #breakfast. I decided to try it with #oatmilk, their only #ditchdairy option. #dairyisscary Maybe matcha is growing on me as I didn’t mind this so much and didn’t need to add sugar which I might have done for the previous ones. They are serving #brunch until 11:30am at select wagamama but I’ve never seen anyone else visiting on three occasions. I probably wouldn’t come back after three disappointing visits. 💷 £4.20 📅September 2024

🥔🌶️This they managed to make correctly. It’s little half moon #hashbrowns in their #firecracker sauce with #redonion 🧅and #springonion and #redchilli. I love that sauce on their #bangbang cauliflower but maybe it was a bit too much at #breakfast time. I wouldn’t order this again but I am curious to try the corn 🌽fritters and a correctly made Bao bun. They are only serving #brunch at select Wagamama so check before hand that your branch is serving. They have a new app called soul club to get free stuff. It didn’t work on this occasion as you need to order a main over £12 to qualify for stamps and to get rewards. Bummer. 💷£6 📅August 2024
