The Butcher’s Daughter is a vegetarian restaurant with many vegan friendly dishes. I discovered it thanks to abillion after seeing a review from @earthlinged who incidentally went to this exact same location on Kenmare street. I had brunch here and my drink of choice was this cold pressed juice made with apple, celery and spinach. The ingredients were well balanced giving the juice a great refreshing and slightly sweet taste. I hate to say it, but this was my least favorite thing I had on my trip. I honestly wouldn't recommend this particular bowl. I personally would get the Butcher's Bowl instead, next time. This bowl has tri colored quinoa, watermelon radishes, sweet potatoes, and roasted chickpeas. The menu listed that it had rainbow microgreens and a soy ginger dressing. No big deal about the absence of microgreens, but I couldn't tell if it had dressing on it or not. I thought I could taste a hint of ginger, but it was just so super dry, and it had very little flavor that it was really hard to eat. The bowl was $17, so it's definitely pricey. I'm so sorry about the annoying number of reviews. I had no schedule in NYC, so I centered my days around finding vegan restaurants. 💸🤣 Doin' it for the animals. When we ordered a side of #potatoes with our #brunch, we didn't realize it would be this huge size! 👀 I mean, I'm not complaining, though, but it was like a bucket.🤣 These were $8, which was a bit much for a side (all the prices are really high here), but again, it was a huge portion, so it was definitely a good value. Everything is more expensive in NYC, anyway. The potatoes had a great flavor, and I loved the rosemary, and they smelled wonderful! They were also cooked really nicely and were the perfect temperature. Before I had to take photos. Hahaha. They also have sweet potato wedges as well for those who prefer something sweeter! #veganfortheanimals #abillionlove #veganfood #potatolover

Okay, so first, I'm not the biggest brunch fan, I never like the brunch menus as well as the weekday or evening menus at restaurants. Everything at The Butchers Daughter is vegetarian and most things can be made vegan, but again the menu is smaller for brunch. This #vegan sandwich had sourdough bread, adzuki bacon, rosemary mayo, stone ground mustard, avocado, roasted tomato and arugula. It was a bit pricey at $15 in comparison of other things we got in the city. I really liked the flavor of the adzuki (red bean) bacon. It had a really nice flavor. I'm not a mustard fan, so definitely could do without that, but the rosemary was a nice touch. They have small indoor seating but a rather large patio that is covered and kept us dry from the rain, and they also have a beautiful completely sheltered parklet. It's a beautiful restaurant and the service was really great as well. #veganisnotscary #veganfortheanimals #nyc #abillionlove

The crab cakes at the Butcher's Daughter are made from jackfruit, sweet potato, and quinoa. I didn't get much jackfruit, so the texture was more like a traditional veggie burger rather than a crab cake. It's topped with creole slaw, sweet-hot pickle, and remoulade. The flavor felt really one-note. I wish there was a wider range of flavors and textures. The sweet potato wedges were huge and a nice side. I was going to order the Butcher's Pancakes, but they said they only had waffles, and to me that's better than pancakes! They kept the toppings the same. The waffle is made with rice flour and almond milk and has berry sauce, coconuts whipped cream, candied walnuts, bananas, and a mint leaf. The smell was oddly off-putting, but they tasted good. I'm really glad I added the pecans and bananas. They have it a nice crunch and a bit more substance. This was a really good #vegantuna sandwich. It uses Good Catch/ Wicked Kitchen tuna and it tasted delicious. The flavour was very realistic and a had great texture. The only drawback was the bread - I feel like #sourdough in the US is not the same as sourdough in Europe. But if they used a better quality bread, this sandwich would be near perfect. The place is very nice and it was lovely to sit outside during a very pleasant autumnal day. There is an elephant in the room though - this place is still not fully vegan. Come on Butcher’s Daughter, just go vegan already! #nyc #vegannyc
