I had an extraordinary culinary experience at Soul Kitchen, but I must admit this plate is not up to the standard of its restaurant. The tempeh was simply unedible, marinated to the point that it was way WAY too salty. I hate wasting food, but unfortunately, I couldn't finish this bowl due to the unbearable taste of the tempeh. I ended up eating only the rice and the okra because the other ingredients were not appetible for me either: the beansprouts were covered in chilli flakes (which wasn’t mentioned on the menu), making them too spicy for my taste; the cucumbers and mixed salad were undressed; and the pickled red cabbage had a very odd off sweet flavour that made them unpleasant to eat. Perhaps it was just a one-off unlucky execution of the dish, but unfortunately, I cannot say I’ve enjoyed it. I’m sorry to give a negative review because aside from the tempeh bowl, all the dishes I had at Soul Kitchen were exquisite!
