We found this restaurant through abillion in the centre of beautiful Sirmione. We sat outside under parasols in blistering heat. The outside garden is lakeside so we watched the boats taking off on tours around the Sirmione peninsula. The restaurant was fairly expensive, this dish was listed as a vegan main for €18 - pricey for pasta, and was chosen by my husband. He also ordered the grilled vegetables for €7 It is described as “Rigatoni Pasta with eggplant (aubergine) on tomato pachino (cherry tomato) cream and basil pesto with coconut cheese.” The grilled vegetables didn’t arrive, so we had to pin down the waiter who was busy and apologetic (maybe lost in translation) but when they finally arrived they were good. He enjoyed the meal and felt (for pasta and sauce) that the ingredients were considered and worked well. It was a lovely place to have lunch - until we tried to pay, then we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. After a very long wait and much gesticulating we were brought the bill but no one came back with a card machine. We’d already had a relaxing lunch and were ready to leave so this actually wasted some of our precious time in the area. Finally, our waiter came to take our payment, but he didn’t appear to be very happy. Perhaps we were supposed to pay inside? - I don’t know. Anyway the end didn’t spoil the meal which was very nice but rather expensive overall.

The Cauliflower dish was a starter on the menu but at €16 it was pricey so I decided to have it with the French fries as a main. I didn’t fancy anything on the mains. It is described as Cauliflower Variation on almond cream, taggiasche olive pesto and capers with sesame and hazelnuts. The cauliflower was very finely sliced and raw. It had a pleasant crunch and the flavours all worked well together. It felt like a quality, well put together dish. The fries, €7, didn’t arrive, so we had to pin down the waiter who was busy and apologetic (maybe lost in translation) and when they finally arrived they were hot and delicious. Come dolci vegani c'erano diversi tipi di frutta e gelato. Abbiamo chiesto una Macedonia, era colorata da fragole, kiwi, melone, ananas. Tutta frutta buona e dolce

Un secondo molto originale: sedano rapa arrostito, buonissimo, con accanto polpa di melanzana e mele cotte. Sapori insoliti ma davvero piacevole. 16 €

Come primo vegano c'era questa vellutata zucca e porri, con chips di verdure, decorata con amaranto e olio a crudo. Molto buona. 16 €, ma considerato il posto, con vista lago, ci sta

Caponata di verdure come antipasto, peperoni con uvetta molto saporiti e gustosi. Anche l'occhio vuole la sua parte, ed il piatto è ben presentato. Il cuoco è molto bravo ed artistico. Rimane comunque un ristorante troppo costoso.

Rivisitazione in chiave vegana del tataki. Piatto ben presentato e curato nei piccoli particolari. Cubetti di mela, piccoli fiorellini, semi ed un letto di besciamella arricchiscono il tutto. Melanzane morbide ed abbinate con patate. Piatto che faceva parte del "menù degustazione vegan".

Risotto dal gusto delicato, con lieve sentore di limone. Gli asparagi erano veramente morbidi. A Sirmione questo ristorante, all'interno dell'hotel Sirmione, offre un menù degustazione totalmente vegano dall'antipasto al dolce. L'unica cosa è il costo veramente troppo alto se confrontato a quello di ottimi ristoranti vegani che abbiamo visitato da noi in Toscana. A Sirmione d'altra parte tutto è costoso. Non mi è piaciuta molto la cameriera che, a fine pasto , ci ha proposto un liquore locale come se fosse un omaggio del ristorante ed invece 13 euro in più sul conto già alto!
