Had high expectations for this dish but it was underwhelming to say the least. Sambal wasn’t spicy, just sweet. A one dimensional dish. Could get tastier nasi lemak at a coffeeshop nasi padang stall at half the price.

Vegan Nasi Lemak set with added sambal tau kwa tofu. Perfectly fragrant coconut flavour, spicy sambal, tofu and tempe! A bit more expensive but so worth it! 😛👌

Vegan nasi lemak in Newton Food centre. Chilli is spicy and sweet. Portion of coconut infused rice and vegetables with tofu is quite filling.

New stall at Newton Food Centre that offers limited servings of vegan nasi lemak daily. The rice is rich of coconut aroma. And their vegan sambal tumis is so yummy, I cannot stop thinking about it! At $9.90, the price seems a bit steep, but you are getting real, not processed food that I love such as brinjal, tempeh , tau kwa, long beans; very different from the usual vegetarian nasi lemak tasted elsewhere. Hence, for its authenticity and use of real ingredients I highly recommend OG lemak! #veganisnotscary

Delicious! One of the very few vegan food items you can find in Newton Food Centre. Great to see a veganised version of Nasi Lemak, a dish originated from Malay cuisine. The coconut infused rice, one of the main stars of the dish, is twice steamed and tastes absolutely amazing and fragrant. Their homemade sambal tumis is also vegan, and super tasty. Not very spicy and not overly sweet. This Nasi Lemak stall was mentioned on Food King (a popular youtube series in Singapore) and has been selling out super fast. So go early if you want some good vegan Nasi lemak!

Finally got to try the OG Lemak vegan set and it lives up to its expectation! It is tasty and healthy with lots of veggies, tempeh and tofu. I asked for less spicy and it was really nicely spiced for me without being overly hot. Will definitely come back here for more! Waiting time was 7 mins and that for lunchtime on a weekday!

Really glad to see vegan nasi lemak as an option. Sides were great but I couldn't help wishing the famous rice was more lemak and tastier. (note the pic has reduced rice as I was going low carb - the rest I took takeaway!)

$9.90! omg actually one of the best vegan nasi lemak…. extremely authentic which I love. the twice steamed rice was AMAZING so soft and fluffy with lots of “lemak” flavour:D sambal goreng wasn’t too spicy and was on the sweeter side but I didn’t mind it! eggplants we’re SO JUICY like I haven’t had such juicy eggplants before?? insane. tofu was pretty alright, but the tempeh chips added such a good texture change like ikan bilis! not much flavour itself tho. sambal was also a good balance of sweet and spicy:”)

OMG THIS WAS VANTASTIC! ONE OF THE BEST NASI LEMAK I'VE EVER HAD! Comparable only to Warung Ijo. I'm surprised no one has reviewed this yet. I found out about this new stall from @sgplantbasedfoodie on Instagram. The rice is so fragrant and lemak more than almost all the rice I've tried! I feel conflicted whether to taste the rice by itself or eat with the flavourful sambal which is vegan! I guess I'd prefer a bit less chilli in future. It is pretty worth $9.80 as it is so abundant and filling. The tempeh chips are delicious. The long beans are cooked with yummy tempeh and tofu! There are tofu pieces and eggplant. I feel that it is #cookedwithlove and so happy that this stall makes a vegan option. Feel that the stall owners are passionate about their food. Will come back again. I came around 7.30, and got the second last set with all their non veg options sold out. They gave me a bit more cos they were clearing their stock for the day. Must be very popular. #veganheaven #musttry #traditionalfood And wow, after I had my meal I realised there was a fire going on at another stall further away. Didn't realise the bell ringing was a fire alarm. It was pretty smoky and no one was hurt from what I saw. Everyone was more curious than scared and taking videos.
