Made the rookie mistake of ordering kway teow (which is almost always too oily) at the vegetarian stall and tried in vain to stop the auntie from giving me too much food! The braised lotus root and firm tofu was so flavourful and at $5 the portion size for this meal is enough for 1.5 pax so its pretty worth I guess #veganisnotscary #eastsideeats

The small Hawker Center at the Tampines MRT, with very limited seating and always packed with a lot of crowd. The vegetarian stall aunty is as always very generous with her servings. I got the brown rice with Tofu, mock meat and veggies curry which costed only $5.90. Heavy serving and never got to finish the plate. Amazing food, would always want to go back to try their dishes.

From the ABC vegetarian store!! Everything is chopped up really finely but the pineapple still adds a nice tangy flavour! Otherwise there's not much difference between their fried rice options #veganisnotscary

Simple lunch - fried brown rice with stir fry broccoli and black fungus. It’s kinda pricey in my opinion ($5.70 - for only two greens). Nevertheless the taste was pretty good

Got my lunch/dinner at the vegetarian stall, ordered a brown fried rice with some stir fry vegetables and mock fish. Vegetables tasted slightly odd (taste like it’s been fermented?) and mock fish were slightly salty

$3.80 for rice and curry (2 portions)! Been craving for curry and only curry. Tastes good. And this stall is advertised to sell organic veggies. May be a little expensive at times ordering from there.

$4.70 for this dish if I'm not wrong. Slightly expensive for me but since it's advertised as "organic"... i understand why it's priced that way. Tastes good so no complaints! 😊

Very standard dishes at vegetarian stalls but they gave a huge amount of black fungus!

this was soooo bad ;; the whole meal was cold & hard (the tofu skin & noodle). mushroom was really salty as well. its also a little pricey as compared to other stalls. ($4.50)

Commonly called as Thunder Rice (direct translation from 雷茶, actually it’s the description of how the tea is grinded and cooked to form the “soup”). This humble dish is originated from the Hakka and many versions of this can be found in various hawker centre and food court. Some tofu with various greens and garnished with pan-fried radish to give the tantalising salty bit with every spoonful. Depending on preference, some like the tea poured onto the rice but I prefer it as a soup. Price at the stall is high especially with brown rice. The normal order is with plain white rice.
