Roasted sweet potato, lentil and quinoa burger (with added home fries) With Cilantro Mint Pesto, kale butter, and avocado. The burger was a nice size & succulent, but but but… I am almost certain those home fries were cooked on top of a dirty pan or in oil that had previously had animal fat around it. They tasted funky and very off putting 🤢

Pretty tasty breakfast bowl with potatoes, roasted bell pepper, onion, oyster mushrooms and crumbled tofu. Topped with salsa and avocado. It wasn’t my first choice but their other vegan options unfortunately had nuts in them and I am allergic :( it was a very big serving, quite filling, but the price was a bit high for what it was. Overall did the trick, but not sure I’d go out of my way to order again. #veganbreakfast #veganfood #whatveganseat

Every day is a bit different if you order this breakfast special (which they extend into the afternoon if you ask for it). They substitute, tofu and vegan cheese. Today there was an orchid on top! – completely edible.

A huge shout out to Gabriel‘s! I left (erm… to pet Artemis, a lovely dog) my partner to order. He got a vegan burger and ordered me the hash, not knowing that it wasn’t vegan and that he had to ask them to veganize it. As we were sitting drinking our lovely lattes, I asked him if he remembered and he told me he didn’t even know to ask. As I headed inside to rectify it, a server was bringing our food out. She was so cool about fixing OUR mistake and said the food would not be wasted (which would’ve put me in a huge dilemma!) since she hadn’t set it down in front of me. I love this place!. But today was extra special, it was sunny and beautiful – summer in October on Vancouver Island. People sitting out with their dogs underneath their tables… Swoon… The hash was delicious as usual, featuring green beans and cauliflower that have been roasted on the barbecue and sprouts and potatoes and peppers and tofu and… and… (it’s hash!) and an amazing salsa… And I do mean Amazing!

Mmmmmm…. Love this place on a summer morning. Waiting for their ever veganizable daily “hash” which I always order (they happily sub tofu and vegan cheese) I’m sitting here people watching with my best friend/ partner with the best oat milk latte.

Can’t beat this café for comfort food. I can never decide what to eat but I try to have something different than my partner so I can have at least a bite of his. Their burgers are always just right.

Everything is always delicious here! At Gabriel’s, they’ll veganize almost anything, and never even bat an eye. It’s a great spot any day of the week. There is a “hash” on special every day and I’ve never had the same version twice.

This is a good burger at a decent price. There is a choice of Daiya cheese or avocado. The avocado was generous. We sat outside (where they allow dogs, which we love even though we don’t have one just now) and there was a line up the whole time. It’s great to see Gabriel’s doing well after the tough year of limited seating.

Not even a blink! when we asked if the special could be made vegan! Lovely! They substituted tofu for eggs and switched out the dairy to vegan cheese. It was delicious. Plus! I’m a girl who likes a lot of food (if it’s good) and this was very generous. Love Gabriel’s!!
