I wanted something other than pizza and plain pasta. A burger wasn’t what I had in mind either, but I noticed it had a new vegetarian/vegan item on the menu, so I thought I’d try it (another abillion review opportunity). I paid the extra $1 for the vegan option ($19.99 total) to replace the ancho chipotle sauce (which contained dairy) with avocado and to switch out the bun for a vegan gluten-free bun (I think the brioche bun contains dairy and egg). The veggie was a true veggie burger. Although it tasted good, I was sort of disappointed because I had expected/assumed the burger would have been plant-based meat instead of being made with bits of vegetables (which is not a bad thing). Also, the burger fell apart easily. It reminded me of the veggie President’s Choice veggie burger I recently reviewed. Perhaps it was? If I’m not mistaken, I think Boston Pizza used to offer a plant-based meat burger. Regardless of whether or not it did, it would be nice to have this option too. I would order this again, although I might be more inclined to order a veganized pizza instead.
