Delicious!!! Would be great with some rice or barley
Unusually for Wicked, I was very impressed with this: nice red-winey tasting timatoey sauce with
plenty of chickeny chunks. A reasonable portion for two adults (with plenty of trimmings) & not too unhealthy.
I doubt I'd pay RRP (£5); though in comparison to Asda's '2 vegan No-coq au vin puff pastry pies' - RRP £7.50 for 2, it's good value.
This was rich and super savoury and tasty. I never really tried Coq au Vin
back in the day so I wouldn’t know how to compare, but I loved the deep flavours and the mock chicken in here was a good texture (though I think my favourite bits were the mushrooms and onions.) Only thing is it’s quite pricey (£5 when not in the meal deal) and I can’t imagine it being super filling on its own. Pictured here with some super saucy homemade cauliflower cheese 🤩 (pictured: 2 packs split over 3 bowls)
Hollyy fuuckk is this rich. Really really tasty sauce, the brandy flavour is very potent,
and it's got a nice variety of veg that all cooked up perfectly.
The soya pieces did not remind us of duck, more of a chewy beef texture, but still a nice addition.
We had this with the wicked rice, but it would probably go better with mash🤔
