This cake really only works with tea as per its name. I've had it without tea and it's a bit dry. I had a slice on the weekend and it got me to drink lots of water. There's a compliment in there somewhere...

Again I am not a fan of mixing spice with things that are meant to be sweet but the combination works really well together, I think the icing is made from tahini? Would never know.
