Plant Based Deli Slices Hickory Smoked

I bought some fresh bread from a farmers market because I was craving some sandwiches. I bought a few different flavors of these #delislices along with some #vegancheeseslices for the main filling of the #sandwich. I also used a garlic mayo from another local #veganbusiness, plus some tomato slices and lettuce--I kept it super simple. These deli slices are great, I haven't had them in so long! They're made with #soy and #wheat. The flavor and texture are great, very similar to real deli meat from what I recall. I liked the flavor of this #hickorysmoke one more than the other variety I bought. The packaging is a little annoying because it's like vacuume sealed into plastic inside the cardboard box. So after I open it, I transfer it to another container. Not cheap but a fun thing to get once in a while. 14g of #protein in a serving of 110 calories is great in my opinion.

I wanted something for my sandwich, but wasn’t expecting much, but when I tried, is full of flavor and the texture is also perfect. I am so glad that I bought it, now I am buying all the other flavors to try them out! The number of protein is also a good one, definitely a good choice for me.

Anyway I was happy to try this #hickorysmoke #fakemeat. It was yummy on a #sandwich with mustard and mayo and had a nice bite and chew. I was surprised to see just now that one serving is five slices. That seems a lot! It’s made from wheat gluten, tofu, and soy sauce. Found at Sprouts for $4.99. Craving this again for lunch today. This is a great product to have on hand to make a nice sandwich. Usually I just have it cold, but to make it more fit for a breakfast sandwich up at the cabin, we fried it alongside a JUST Egg patty with Violife cheddar shreds. They were maybe in the pan a bit too long, but it was fun to get them really crispy. They almost ended up like thin bacon, perfect for a breakfast sandwich! The smoky flavor really added to the bacon-iness of it all.
