Phyllo Dough Sheets

I have not worked with phyllo dough for many years so my impression might be skewed but I was impressed with how easy this was to work with. The package has two separate packages/rolls of dough, which is quite convenient. I used the phyllo to make spanakopita. It was pretty easy to cut through the dough and to fold it. You really want to make sure to keep the sheets you are waiting to work on moist as they sit out; covering with a wet towel works. The spinach pies baked so lovely! They came out a golden brown and the phyllo was so crispy and delicious. Will use the dough to make baklava this weekend. (Update: The baklava was sooooooo good!) #phyllopastry #phyllo #fillo

I got this for Christmas to make a Christmas tree with pesto and cherry tomatoes. It tastes good but ingredients are not my favorite, as it has canola oil, various preservatives, etc. We are used to cook at home but I wanted to try that Christmas snack.

I used these to make a tomato tart . It came out yummy . Will use again

Great to have phyllo dough/puff pastry as a vegan option (some have dairy butter in it). Pictured here is a Wellington dish and a Turkish Borek made from it. I made the Borek from leftover sheets that's been in the freezer for over 6 months and was very surprised that it was still pliable enough to work with! Very nice and flaky results.

I have been buying the Athens Foods Frozen Phyllo dough sheets for years. It’s accessible and clearly marked as vegan. There aren’t too many different brands for sale but this one is usually the cheapest. I recommend thawing it out in the fridge the day before you want to use it!
