I started eating these sausages when I was still a meat-eater (my mother is vegetarian), and they are still one of my favourite faux meat products. The sausage isn't too spicy (at least not for me) and is flavourful. I like that it holds together well as I usually roast it together with crushed potatoes to make a one-pot dish. It does come in a plastic bag (great for an #ecobrick but not so great for the environment) but the outer box is easily #recyclable. Fry's products are average priced when compared to imported brands of vegan faux meat.


For me this product is great. It maybe purchased at any Checkers it Pick N Pay I don’t usually live on a helluva lot of processed food but I find them useful to keep in my household as frozen food. I love the taste of this Fry’s sausage product. I like to use it as a simple Indian South African based dish , as a sausage and tomato chutney served with basmati rice. It’s easy to control the spice & salt levels when cooking the meal itself and for the rice cooking as well. If one wishes to eat it as breakfast component, it can be cooked in the air fryer or lightly fried and eaten with sweet potatoe mash , braised baked beans Indian style and a silken tofu egg breakfast . This is for anyone who likes spicy food. It can be upscaled or downscaled as a meal being created. If you’ve not tried it as yet give it a shot.
