Cream Cheese Alternative Pumpkin Pie

I was introduced to Kite Hill and this cream cheese at the end of last year’s season (they were on sale and I just had to try). I couldn’t find them after that. 😔 I’m going to be honest, I have been waiting all year for them to be restocked again. 😀 My oh my! This cream cheese is heavenly! It’s creamy and cheesecake like, although it’s still spreadable. I used it both as a cream cheese (on french toast bagels) and as a frosting (see my next review!) There is a light sugar, pumpkin, and a little heavier spice flavor in it. I really, really enjoyed it and was glad that I at least managed to come across it last year before it was gone! Now I’ve purchased it at least two or three times this season. Always on sale because prices are just crazy right now. Two tablespoons (33g) of this yummy spread provides just 60 calories from 4g of fat, 7g of carbs and 2g of protein. Purchased at Whole Foods on sale for $5.99, normally priced this year at $6.99. It’s currently on sale there for $6.49 till the end of the month. Whoa! I can’t believe that this stuff is made of #almondmilk. I was hardly expecting the luscious, pillowy, whipped texture of this cream cheese; it yielded unresistingly to my butter knife and spread smoothly, like an absolute dream. As with other Kite Hill products, it’s ever-so-slightly sour (due to the fermentation); I think I noticed this aspect more because it was my first time trying one of their sweet products, though it by no means detracted from my experience. It’s truly incredible — somehow this spread really does taste like warmly spiced #pumpkin pie filling; it made my (accidentally scorched) bagel taste just like dessert. Despite the indulgent experience, it’s not nutritionally horrible, either! And the best part? It was a cool $0.99 at Grocery Outlet.

Wowza! I wasn’t expecting it to be salty so the first bite was off putting. But after that, pure bliss! Amazing as “frosting” on pumpkin muffins. Great as a spread for toast. Boy i love fall! 🍁🎃

I love it so much. I already love Kite Hill cream cheeses, and this one just adds pumpkin to something I love. It was so good spread on pumpkin muffins we bought, and on pumpkin bread we baked.
