I bought these tortillas recently at No Frills to use to
wrap my burrito mix, including baked rice and mango salsa. The soft flour tortilla wraps were the perfect size (the size I got was “large”) and were extremely fresh. They folded nicely and didn’t break or tear.
To deviate from the norm, I used a couple wraps to make “burrito pizzas”. I don’t know if this is a thing or if I’ve just stumbled upon a creation. (Perhaps I should trademark “burrito pizza” and “burrito za”) I basically took the burrito stuffing and spread it on a tortilla wrap, added some plant-based cheese and bbq sauce, and stuck in the oven for a few minutes. See the last photo. The tortilla came out crispy and still held the burrito pizza toppings without falling apart. This was super delicious!
Each wrap provides a lot of fibre and iron, with a decent amount of protein. I think each wrap is equivalent to about 2 slices of bread, from a calorie count perspective. I don’t think the nutritional numbers differed much between whole wheat and plain white tortillas, but I might be mistaken.
I would definitely get these again.
