Went on an outdoor adventure trip to Wyoming this month, found some #vegan goods to cook at camp! First up this #veganbacon seitan! Was very delicious, and there was actually quite a bit that came in the package. It was sliced thin, and had that salty, smokey flavor. Yes, I crowded the pan when frying it, but I was terribly hungry 😋

Cook it a little or cook it a lot (for you extra crispy vegan Bacon lovers). This smoky seitan makes a great BLT, salad or pizza topping, or enjoy it as a side. Keep refrigerated or frozen. Heat and serve. Enjoy within 5 days of opening. Can be baked into your favorite recipes, or for best results pan fry with a small amount of oil. If frozen, run package under cold water for 10 minutes or move to fridge 24 hours before cooking to thaw. Took a break from the daily harvest meals for a minute. Just wanted something made fresh. I usually get the smart bacon, but everyone talks about Uptons so I finally tried it. It's pretty similar to the smart bacon. Cooks up quick, I think the smart bacon gets a bit more crispy. Good for a VLT, nonetheless.
The small slices are perfect for a sandwich. They fry easily without tearing. Texture is very soft, almost seemingly delicate, but easy to handle (doesn’t tear easily). Juicy with a slight tanginess. Very flavorful in my sandwich. I made a B.E.L.T. replica, using tofu instead of eggs. This would go very well in a pizza too I think. Also a great source of #iron and #protein . #bacon #veganmeat #breakfast
Not a fan. I think the hickory flavor is too much for me, smells like ham 🤮 and the slices are too thick to get to the level of crispy I'd like. Too chewy. Wouldn't buy again #veganisnotscary
Though I’m not a huge fan of meat alternatives, they deserve a shoutout when they are truly tasty. This seitan bacon is a little sweet, a little Smokey, and has a nice firm but flexible consistency. We made it alongside a tofu scramble and it added a lot to the dish.
