Drought Appeal – Our Rescued Animals Need Your Help!
Animal Liberation Victoria’s sanctuary, called Liberation Sanctuary, is Australia's longest running farm animal sanctuary, home to over 140 rescued animals. Sadly, we have been facing severe rainfall deficiencies, and we are recovering from one of the most brutal summers in memory. The grass is gone. The dams are drying.
☀️Empty Dams and Paddocks
Our dams provide water for almost all our rescued animals, including cows, sheep, pigs, goats, deer, and alpacas. For the first time since we have been here, one of our dams is empty, and the other is desperately low.
Our normally lush valleys are dry and brown, with zero grass. We are facing surging hay prices, with rapidly decreasing availability. The costs have already been devastating, with unprecedented water cartage and more hay being required than ever before.
🖐We Need Your Help
Since the 1980s, Liberation Sanctuary has been a refuge for thousands of rescued animals, and now we need your generosity to make sure the animals in our care continue to thrive. Severe rainfall deficiency can be catastrophic, and your support will help make the world of difference.
Unlike the farming community, we receive no financial drought assistance from the government. So even the smallest donation is gratefully appreciated. Your kindness will be crucial in allowing us to purchase round hay bales for the cows and life-giving water and cover the mounting costs of this drought.
We thank you in advance for any help you can provide in these desperate times.
