Tteokbokki

I didn't know what to expect with this dish, but it was excellent! The flavors were perfectly balanced, with enough spice to keep it interesting, but not destroy my mouth. The rice cake logs had a really smooth and interesting mouth feel, and I enjoyed these a lot. The vegan egg was nice for the novelty, and hysterical to try to pick up with chopsticks, but didn't really add any flavor to the dish. Regardless, I enjoyed the flavor of this dish a lot and would certainly order again. FYI, the restaurant takes credit card, but every time we went, it would not accept our three cards. Not sure if this is because of their machines, or our international cards, but we had to use cash. We had no issues using our cards before or after this restaurant.

I got this on delivery and it wasn’t quite what I was expecting - more like soup in consistency and the listing didn’t say there would be an “egg” - something I’m personally not keen on. However the sauce was spicy and warming and the rice cakes very soft.

This was a 10/10 meal 🙌 first time trying Tteokbokki and it didn't disappoint. The rice cakes were chewy, the sauce was flavorful and spicy and the vegan egg an interesting new experience. This meal was on a special menu only available for a limited time but I sure hope that it will become a regular.
