Salmoniee Don Teishoku

This is from the start of this year, when the dish was still available. While it may no longer be available, I'm still holding out hope that they'll eventually bring something like this back, and the dish was so good that it did warrant an extremely delayed review. The #miso soup was probably the least memorable out of everything here, but even then, it was generous in terms of its ingredients, with mushrooms, carrots, and tau pok pieces. The salad came with really fresh vegetables, and I liked that there was #edamame included. Of course, I really loved the #salmon and its interesting texture when fried and coated in sauce, and the #eggplant and #zucchini were great too. A very filling, nutritious, and delicious meal that more than justifies its higher price.

Didn't like this at all. Only the miso soup was good, flavourful with bits of veg but even so, it was served lukewarm nearly cold. Everything was well thought of but execution could be better. Everything was too sweet. The sweet vinegar on the eggplant, zucchini, mock salmon and rice were more sweet than tangy.. Short grained rice also tasted mediocre. Salad was doused in soy sauce and rather salty. Stewed radish was ok crunchy but very sweet too.

Japanese short grain rice bowl, slightly different version of the previous Ichiju-Sansai Tokusei Salmoniee Bento! Still featuring the dishes I loved the most in the previous iteration - succulent grilled #happiee textured soy protein salmon, zucchini, and eggplant in sweet and tangy amazu vinegar sauce, as well as stewed daikon radish with taupok tofu puffs in mild savoury broth. The crunchy burdock root and chilled tofu (which I felt were the weak link in the previous bento) were replaced with an edamame, cherry tomato, and cucumber salad. The umami miso soup was also filled with lots more ingredients such as root vegetables! Already felt the previous bento was good, but this was even better! P.S.
