Recco Classico

We returned to our old favourite Primi for a last dinner date before leaving SA shores. We were disappointed to find the menu had completely changed, with our “usual” pasta off the menu, and just three vegan choices available: a salad, a burger, or a flatbread. When we were finally served, I decided to go ahead and break the bank and order a Beyond Meat burger (R149 without a side) - only to be told it wasn’t available. I asked if there was any vegan pasta option on offer, and was advised of the ‘veganised’ Reco pasta, which hubby and I then ordered. Unfortunately it was SO spicy I couldn’t make it through more than 3 mouthfuls. Hubby fared a bit better, but gave up halfway through. Usually Primi would bring bread for the table but seemingly no more, so alas - we asked for the bill so we could get home and eat leftovers, instead, as by that point I was really just hungry. Takeaway from Primi - although it doesn't look like much in the picture, I got two full portions out of this single meal. Very delicious

This was exceptional. I can’t wait to go back and have it again. It was a big portion, super creamy and had the right amount of spice.

New vegan options at Primi! Eek! Loved this curry-inspired pasta. Not particularly spicy (a good thing, in my books) and full of flavour. Will definitely order again, although next time might go for a pizza 😃 #greyton #supportgreytonfarmanimalsanctuary
