Original Vegan Egg Tart

Did not enjoy this. The custard had an overpowering vanilla flavour or something. The tart base was also mediocre.

Looked more impressive than it is. The smell of sugar hit soon as the tart arrived on the table. Tasted cloyingly of soy milk, which (for want of a better word) is 'ergh'. But satisfied my curiosity at least! #veganegg #dimsum #sgvegan

Normally these come in serving sizes of 1 or 2, but we got a third one for free because of the kind of mishaps that betide only @dafnelately 😛 I was not particularly impressed with this #eggtart. The pastry/tart was the best part, firm rather than crumbly, and with good flavour. The filling on the other hand didn't taste/remind of egg at all, and in fact had the texture of mayonnaise or chutney or hummus. Weird 😬

Think #custard instead when you dig into these #eggtart 🐣 It’s a little on the sweet side 🤏 They sell 2 at S$6.60 but continuing the theme of messed up orders this weekend my #porridge did not come after half an hour & @stevenneoh & @m1tch9i having already finished their mains so they compensated with an extra piece 🥹 I ended up with a refund on that luckily and had a proper meal later at Super Loco where we were headed for drinks just after 🍸 I won’t do these again, being a fan of the more #savoury kind, but I can imagine this hitting a nostalgic note for some 🎶
