Ramadan came early this year 🤭 Bold choice to serve this typically sweet “pancake” / “dumpling” as a savoury main 🥟 They even stuffed it with #mushroom and #pinenuts 🍄 True to #qatayef / #katayef it still had a sweet dusting of flavour on the outside. No clue what it was though 😋 Not unlike the dip it was served with — A cashew #miso cream 🥜 It actually paired really well with the sweet #savoury pockets. For S$48 though, it does not taste up to class. The menu is vague with “garden vegetables” but we’re had a serving of fennel, cauliflower, red radish, what might’ve been ginkgo, and some cabbage 🥬 I guess it changes time to time, but it was all pretty decent 🕰️
I definitely took this photo from the wrong end of the silver platter 😅 All this #toohealthy stuff makes it look like I've turned the corner, but oh no I haven't 😁 The #katayef were stuffed with greasy #mushrooms and #pinenuts, and then #deepfried to crispy, artery-clogging perfection 😋 The #cashew #miso cream sounded fantastic on paper, but in reality I ended up ignoring it in favour of the tahini from our other dish 😅
