This is mandu, vegetable gyoza. 🥟 Who doesn’t like a bit of fried food? I tend to avoid dipping sauces, don’t feel the need for them. But mum likes the sauce.
Crispy fried dumplings stuffed with an umami mix of textured soy protein, as well as assorted diced vegetables including mushroom, cabbage, and carrot. 🥟🍄🥕 Skin to filling ratio was pretty good, and it wasn't overly greasy. Came with soy-vinegar sauce~ Swipe right ➡️ for action and cross-section shots! 📸 I redeemed this for free as part of my Sauté membership perks, but otherwise I would say these were rather pricey, considering they were basically the #meatzerosg frozen plant-based gyoza rather than housemade dumplings. (There was recently a bit of fuss online that the dumplings tasted suspiciously flavourful, and in response Sauté shared a letter of guarantee from CP Foods Thailand stating that the product does not contain alliums or asafoetida mushroom.) Personally I found these tasty, but would prefer to enjoy housemade dumplings showcasing the chef's culinary skills, which I believe the Sauté group used to have! 🙊 (Allium-free, $9 / 5 pieces) #sgvegan #koreanfood #alliumfree
