Maitake Mushroom

Don’t order this. It was just a lottt of mushroom. Mushroom that wasn’t marinated well. The middle of it lacked flavour so overall the dish was truly bland and hard to finish. The black garlic oil taste was not strong. The smoked pumpkin cream didn’t taste smoky :( and I love smoky flavours like in babaganoush where the eggplant is charred. There also wasn’t enough pumpkin cream which had the potential to make this dish less bland :(

Maitake happens to be one of my favorite mushrooms, its texture is firm and not slimy yet full of flavor. This is a grilled Maitake over pumpkin cream, with black garlic oil and water cress. It’s delicious and light.
