Kolo Mee Pok

After the delectable wantan mee experience of the week prior, I was just itching to return for another #kolomee fix 🤤 This time I was looking for that thicc bite of that #meepok 😏 Again… just… great softly QQ perfection on the #noodles 😍 Everything strand was just dressed in the finest mixture of oil, starch water, vinegar, soy sauce, and I have to assume MSG 🤪 UUGGHH!! I love me some bold savouriness with a splash of sour 😝 This sensational #mockmeat #mince was just the right amount of porky umami that’s still kind of mushroomy ☺️ Either that or it’s just the a #mushroom 😋 THEN, they even give #tofu !!? 🥹 How it speaks to my protein-cravin’ soul 😊 Annndd… the plain boiled mustard greens and julienned carrots were a good way to cut through it all 😛 I’m still in absolute shock at the value of this place 🥹 RM 4 for a consistent generous portion size? You’ll always be walking away #satisfied 😛 A back-to-back #bestpicks choice from the same place? I mean… need I say more…? 😉

sjsjjsjs so I actually passed on the opportunity to *finally* have #meekolok and got myself the #meepok version instead after having complained for a week about egg in the mee kolok noodles. Will we ever find out why I made this particularly smooth-brained decision? Probably not 💁‍♀️ #hingingforanswers So it’s basically the exact same dish as mee kolok, expect you get the flat “pok” noodles instead. They get bonus points for creativity by not going down the traditional char siew seitan route and instead using a minced meat replacement! Pretty sure it was #omnimeat actually 😋 You also get #tofu in addition to some vegetable toppings, love it. Overall I love how oily and on-point it was?? Best vegan mee kolok I’ve had, like ever! #veganisnotscary because I was recommended the place by another Kuching-based vegan, so I don’t wanna hear your excuses 🙄 Even the stall straight up knew the #vword and told me what’s up, LOVE IT 💕 #bestpicks
