What makes Crosstown Doughnuts different is that they throw sourdough starter into their dough, which creates a subtly crusty outer layer before biting into a soft and chewy center that can be creamy or jelly if ordering a filled doughnut. This Almond Butter Cinnamon Scroll was bonkers. It’s filled with Pip & Nut Almond Butter custard, which isn’t too sweet but more nutty and creamy and so comforting with notes of cinnamon. I also loved the clever name-change to scroll instead of roll— quite fitting for historical London. 📜 👏
