This Tempeh Bakkwa is awesome - if you like tempeh and don’t like bakkwa. It’s more of a snack on its own and while “It’s a nice attempt to create a vegan version of the usual meat jerky, not everyone will like this. I did however love this and even had it with scallion crepe. This needs to be heated before serving otherwise it’s just tempeh with a lot of marinade. I bake it till it’s chewy and caramelised. I definitely prefer this to the usual vegetarian jerky that’s too chewy and straight up tastes like plastic. Plus there’s protein in here!
For the price it’s really not affordable, though understandably because it’s handmade, really hope to see prices go down so more people can try this.
