I FINALLY tried # DEEP FRIED WATERMELON🍉 their tag line: "sounds disgusting, tastes delicious." They have been at the last Vegandales, and we always miss out, so I was ecstatic they were going to be in Pittsburgh. #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease
So, these are Filipino inspired street food that takes fresh #watermelon balls, dips them in a sweet pancake batter, and deed fries them. They're also served with sweet icing. They literally tasted like heaven. You really don't taste the watermelon too much because the batter is so sweet. They're served pretty hot, and you get to watch them make your order. Kids would love it! These were definitely pricey at $10 for 3, which is expected at a vegfest. They also always have the longest line, but are still so friendly when they must be exhausted. This is a must check out if they're ever at festival near you!
