Finally got around to trying this nutritious #rice substitute that I received last year as part of #veganisnotscary! It was really great for a busy week; I had rice and beans for lunch a couple of times (I’ve included a photo, though it’s not a looker,) and it was so cool to have #protein on both sides of the plate. The grains have a mild tomato-and-onion flavor. Although it looks strikingly like Spanish rice, the pasta-like chewiness and lack of grease dispel the illusion somewhat. #toohealthy, perhaps? That being said, it was still tasty. I especially love the convenience/#lazyvegan-friendliness, and I’m looking forward to sampling the other flavors in my pantry!
