I bought this pie to freeze for one of those days when you need to make supper fairly quickly.
Once defrosted, it only takes 25 minutes to heat up in the oven.

Just one recyclable cardboard box for packaging - big tick.

It’s a substantial pie with hearty looking pastry encasing the jackfruit ‘steak’ cooked in craft ale and black pepper. It must be the #craftale that makes it taste rich and deeelish. There’s plenty of filling. I made mash potato and steamed courgette to go with it and felt very content.

I suspect jackfruit is an acquired taste for some, but I’d recommend this pie as an induction if you’ve never tried jackfruit but want to.

There’s a nutritional benefit to giving it a go because it is rich in #antioxidants. #carotenoids, and the pigments that give jackfruit its yellow color, are high in vitamin A.
