I have been wanting to check out Oshio Station for some time. It’s a very small but beautifully decorated shop. I saw their beautiful IG photos and wanted to stop by! They have a very small wall seating area, but they primarily cater to carry out for the surrounding businesses in downtown Columbus.
I had planned on purchasing the two vegan rolls they offer, but it was actually a lot cheaper to get the box. I chose the vegan option, so Sushi Box 2, which had two full sized rolls, along with edamame and seaweed salad for $15 vs. two rolls for over $17. This box comes with the 'All Veggie' roll and a 'Cucumber Avocado' roll. The All Veggie was my favorite of the two. It had fresh cucumber, avocado, sweet pickled radish, and butternut squash. It has a lot of flavor, and I loved the sweetness of the squash. I am not a huge fan of seaweed salad, but I love edamame, and it’s a really good protein boost. If you’re going to get more than one roll, I would definitely recommend a box as it’s a better value. It was huge, too. I split this and was still very full. They don’t have a whole lot of vegan options, which is a downside, but they make sure to clearly mark the few items they have. Their broths are a mixture of what they have, so sometimes they have fish and animal ingredients, and other times they dont, which eliminates their miso and a few other things from their menu. I think they only have these two vegan rolls. They possibly have an asparagus one in the cold case, but not on the menu.
Overall, the taste and presentation were both great and loved the little floral decoration. I really enjoyed the box. It was really nice sitting along the wall and watching the traffic, and people pass by downtown. It offers a nice, cozy, quiet break.
