Review of Spicy otah nigiri at Saute Sushi by r3ddrag0n
This is $2.90, which is a normal price for sushi at a sushi restaurant (like Sakae Sushi). It has a cool train concept that brings you the food, so I guess it makes up the price.
As much I would like to like it and judging by their reviews, I didn’t find this that good. It doesn’t really taste or have the texture of otah. Well, if you try your best to think it is otah, then you can kinda taste the otah flavour. But you can tell it is very obviously a vegan flavour and not authentic. The looks of it doesn’t look like otah too anyways. My non-vegan mum didn’t like this as well.
However, I do applaud the effort and the sushi making skills seems to be on par with other sushi restaurants. The rice is good, not too sticky or lumpy. It seems to be quite fresh and made to order too. The train concept is new and refreshing for a vegan sushi restaurant, and this can be a quite substitute for other non-vegan sushi restaurant.
