Tsunami Sushi on St. Charles is super-vegan-friendly! They offer a number of vegan "sushi" rolls and other dishes.
If you are new to eating plant-based / vegan and are looking for a terrific sushi-style roll, I think you'll be pleased with the Tofu Roll. The flavors are similar to, but better than, that of a spicy tuna roll, and without harming any fish! In my pre-vegan days, I was never a huge fan fan of spicy tuna, as I felt tuna was just too heavy and overpowering. Tofu makes a way better spicy roll.
The Tofu Roll is one of my favorite rolls anywhere, which means I always order at least one, if not two of them on every visit to Tsunami. The roll is made of firm tofu mixed with a spicy sambal and soy sauce. Carrot and cucumber add crunch, while avocado adds creaminess and fat. The entirety is wrapped with a soy wrapper. I absolutely love a soy wrapper over traditional seaweed, as I'm not a huge fan of seaweed's "fishy" taste.
As a whole food, plant-based eater, I'm ecstatic that Tsunami offers to swap the white sushi rice with brown rice in all of their rolls. There is a small upcharge for brown rice, but it's worth it to me.
If you are looking for a great vegan meal in a place with a nice vibe, check out Tsunami. And don't leave without trying the Tofu Roll!

I'm sure it tastes wonderful. But be really careful with TOFU & SOY. Do your research & thank me later.

dbo416, I've done my research and I have zero issues with soy and soy products.
