Needed a quick bite and Plantitude was closed. Wild Poppy is all gluten free and I found the prices on some of the meals to be outrageous. $12 for to-go soup cup and cornbread. I opted for this $5 samosa roll instead. Not a lot of food but also just enough. They warmed it up for me. You don’t miss the gluten because of what it is. #vancouverisland #ladysmith #britishcolumbia

This #glutenfree vegan sprinkle cake donut isn’t my favourite but if you are passing through Ladysmith on a day when Plantitude is closed, you will likely find the Wild Poppy Market open and with a few solid vegan gf options. This was pretty dry when you bit into it. #vancouverisland #ladysmith #donuts

Very chocolately, which was okay, but super dry and too dense for a donut. Tasted more like a muffin with A LOT of cocoa powder in it.

Tasted really good and was spicy, but was pretty tough like it wasn’t fresh. Would try again though if they were a bit softer.

Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for a ginger cookie today? I didn’t care for the flavour, and I think it may have been at least a day or two old based on the texture. Their other stuff is lovely, but this was a miss.

Nice to find a vegan option of this cookie! I’ve had them a few times and their always good. And gluten free!

Although they are now a “market” instead of a “bistro” they still offer some of their old menu package to take home. This stew is delicious and full of different veggies. Perfect for this time of year and comes with a side of brown rice.
