MAITREA

Maitrea is one of the capital’s most popular fine dining meatless establishments. Located in a picturesque street right off the Old Town Square, it makes for a perfect stop on your explorations of Prague. “Maitrea” is one of the thousands names for the Buddha, meaning “loving kindness.” The entire restaurant is carefully created in this spirit, utilizing the principles of Feng-shui for its design. There are water fountains, many live flowers and a massive stone statue of the Buddha. With two floors and 90 seats, the restaurant offers cozy romantic corners, as well as the possibility of business meetings or larger celebrations. The interior is luxurious, with oak wood, natural colors, marble fountains and lamps from layered silk. An international menu with a scope spanning from Czech classics such as “Svíčková” with dumplings or goulash, a Maitrea burger or even raw zucchini spaghetti, there is an option for every guest. There is a generous offering to satisfy sweet tooth’s, whether a classic such as stracciatella cake with mascarpone or a raw vegan strudel. The staff speaks English and the menu is able to cater to vegan, raw vegan and gluten free requirements.
