Final review from the Ginger Mule! While this sounded really exciting, it didn’t quite hit the spot for me. I found the hearts of palm under seasoned and plain. It was plainly lacking salt. I wouldn’t order this again when there are other better starters (try the nachos!). #houstonvegan #ceviche #veganrestaurant

Unfortunately, this was the worst thing we’ve tried on the menu (by a wide margin). The concept is replacing the traditional pasta with planks of butternut squash. It sounded good to me, but the #squash was cut way too thick and the entire dish lacked the satisfying texture and flavour of a lasagna. The side salad was fantastic however. This is a weak spot in an otherwise great #veganrestaurant . #glutenfree

You might be tempted by the other items on the menu, but you can trust a #veganrestaurant to put together an interesting salad. This enormous portion of taco inspired #salad was great. We loved the fresh ingredients and found it very filling. Contains: Red cabbage,  corn, black beans, mexican rice, curly pea protein,  romaine, cilantro, chili flakes,  guacamole, tortilla strips, & garlic cilantro cream #houstonvegan 🥬👍

My dad ordered this and loved it so much he said I had to rate it a perfect 5 star score. It had a huge volume of mixed #salad greens, #avocado, tomato, broccoli, roasted carrot, roasted squash, red onion, cucumber,  celery, walnuts, and miscrogreens. It also had 3 #lentil patties and a garlic cilantro dressing. The perfect entree to #eattherainbow 🥬🥦🥒🥑🥕

This pie has a mushroom and walnut 'meat' topped with creamy mashed potatoes. It’s served with a homemade gravy, caramelized cinnamon plantains and a salad. The #plantain felt very random to me but they were tasty! Every bit of this was nutritious and satisfying. Like all the entrees here, portions are enormous and good for sharing. #shepherdspie #potatolover 🍌

Ginger Mule is a fully vegan restaurant. I found this big salad bowl a touch under seasoned but it was very fresh and crunchy - which I liked. The bowl has baked #tofu, rice noodles, lettuce, shredded carrot, mushrooms, cucumber, red bell peppers, bean sprouts, cilantro microgreens, sesame seeds and cashews with a sweet chili dressing. #houstonvegan #veganrestaurant 🥬🍄

Obviously #pineapple on pizza isn’t for everybody, but if thats your thing I think you would like this. 🍍The crust feels a bit healthier than your average pizza. It all feels like it’s made from good-for-you ingredients. My omni brother ate this whole thing by himself happily. #houstonvegan #pizza

The portion was huge - 6 of us shared this for a starter and it took us all to finish it! It looked like a serving bowl. The cheese was very tasty and there were tons of toppings. This was actually complimentary since we were celebrating 2 birthdays but we would have happily paid. Contains pea protein 'ground beef', #guacamole, black beans, pico, queso and a creamy vegan nata. This was the fourth dessert we tried here. It is a combo of creme brûlée and flan I believe. 🍮 It has a vanilla custard made from coconut with a caramelised sugary top. I liked the crunch of the sugar but found the custard underwhelming. Maybe it had too much competition on the table but we didn’t finish this and I wouldn’t order it again. #cremebrulee #flan #sweettooth #houstonvegan #saveveganrestaurants

It was exciting to spot this on the menu as I’ve never seen a vegan version of this classic American dessert. 🍍 Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. As you can tell from the picture, the cake was quite dense and heavy. Apart from the fruit itself, there wasn’t a strong #pineapple taste. Presentation also wasn’t great compared to the beauty of the other 3 desserts. I think they could make this a lot better with a few small tweaks. #cake #sweettooth #houstonvegan

Of the 4 desserts we sampled here, this was tied for first place alongside the Guava cheesecake. The presentation was great & the caramel drizzle added nice flavour. It’s a big enough portion to share and you’ll probably want to as the cake itself is pretty dense. If I were to critique anything, I’d like the sponge to be a bit fluffier and lighter.
