I was intrigued by Good Karma’s fortified blend of oats, peas, and flax — could they successfully capture the best attributes of each ingredient, while also avoiding the usual pitfalls? Ultimately, I’m not sure. It pours rather thick and feels creamy, albeit with a touch of sliminess that I’ve noticed in some plant milks. I’ve been using it to make smoothies, though, which seems to mask that quality. There’s a pretty typical 5g of added sugar per cup; however, the other reviewer who noted the extreme flavorlessness was spot-on. The milk doesn’t taste like oats or even pea protein (which I find to have a powerful flavor.) Although I wouldn’t recommend drinking it on its own for this reason, I’m sure the neutrality would be fine for cooking.
