Currently, #organic #blueberries 🫐 are difficult to find as #blueberry production shifts back to the U.S. for blueberry season. However, even though it is difficult to find fresh ones, there are some neat #frozen organic blueberries that I found at #traderjoes. I think blueberries are one of my favorite #fruits—they are so versatile and a great source of #antioxidants. Usually, I like to add a few blueberries to my morning #oatmeal 🥣, and wow, I was impressed! 🤩 The colors from the frozen blueberries mixed along with the oatmeal, and the taste of the blueberries was very #sweet. The texture was relatively firm, but they were also very juicy too. If you are ever looking for some organic blueberries that will last a while, I’d definitely recommend trying these frozen ones. 👍 #veganisnotscary #veganfortheanimals ❤️ #veganfortheplanet 🌎 #blueberrylover 🫐 #morning ☀️ #breakfast #vegan

I roasted a bunch of beets yesterday (weekend = meal prep time👩🏻‍🍳). So naturally (? maybe just me lol), a beet smoothie bowl was what I craved for breakfast this morning, with the help of some frozen blueberries🫐 They’re my top choice to mix with beets. The flavors go really well together and the blue color intensifies the beet red. Not to mention the combined antioxidant and anti-inflammatory charge. A true power couple! I used to avoid frozen fruits (and veggies), assuming they’re inferior to the fresh kind and only a result of the convenient culture. I also didn’t grow up having any frozen meal (still pretty reluctant😅). It’s only much later that I learnt that frozen fruits and veggies could be as nutritious, if not more so, than fresh ones; since they’re (supposedly) picked at peak ripeness and frozen, so there’s less loss of nutrition due to long period of transport and staying on the shelves. For the out-of-season produce, frozen ones might be a better choice in terms of nutritional value. Of course I still much prefer the taste and texture of fresh produce (when possible, getting them at farmers market really makes a difference! And you can freeze all the in-season ones for later use yourself!). But I’ve since learnt to embrace the frozen aisle of the grocery store, a great help during the early days of the pandemic👍🏼 #abillionlove #plantpower #wfpb #eattherainbow
