I’m not much of a fig person, but I decided to give this a try when it was available for volunteers at a place I frequent, since it came to mind on #NationalFigNewtonDay. It didn’t disappoint. It’s not like the fig newtons. I’ve tried in the past a long time ago. These were so soft and chewy, like a soft cookie, and the filling not so overbearing. I love these bars! They’re soft and sweet and a perfect size for a quick snack (but a bit pricey)
The picture is a lie. The bread to jam ratio it's not like in the picture. There's hardly any jam and the whole bar is more dry than flavorful. Maybe if I got these on their own they'd appear more satisfying, but since it's in this box, it just feels like another disappointment. Maybe dip with some oat milk to make more enjoyable.
There are two baked cookies in each package and that makes this a snack that is easily carried in my knapsack when I am away from home. I don't eat a lot of sugary food and I would say that that is the only downside - they are a bit too sweet for me so a little less sugar in the ingredients would be great. #snack #vegansnacks #cookies
