Dark Chocolate Sea Salt

This is another nice flavor from Simply Protein. It's definitely a more classic flavor for protein bars. Chocolate is just a good cover for that protein taste. Also, who can say no to chocolate?! I really enjoy the soy protein crisps that make up the majority of the bar. They pack in 15g of protein which is impressive to me because these taste pretty good! However, I would ask for more salt. When I hear dark chocolate sea salt, I expect to get that satisfying mouthwatering sensation from the salt, but that didn't happen. Simply Protein’s bars have the best texture of any I’ve tried so far — #crispy and light — but I didn’t care so much for this flavor. Ordinarily I’m #teamdarkchocolate all the way; this #protein bar was too sweet. I think they could have backed off a little on the sugar alcohols (that would make it easier on the gut, too.) I appreciated the touch of #seasalt — I happen to enjoy a #sweetandsalty pairing. It’s obviously highly processed, but the nutritional composition and overall experience are pretty decent. Even though this flavor wasn’t my favorite, I’d still recommend this brand over almost any other #veganprotein option. Like every other #snack in my office, this came in a Costco multipack, but they can also be purchased from other retailers or online.

I wanted to like you, but you had that gross healthy aftertaste that protein bars have. Pass.

I love how this doesn’t use any artificial sweeteners which is so hard to find

These bars are pretty tasty, a bit bitter though. They are high in protein and low in sugar.
