Chinese 5 Spice Nuggets

These are great to throw in ramen or many asian dishes. It's really flavourful and versatile. Hodo is always good!

These are great for a quick stir fry or rice dish. Not a Hugh fan of 5 spice in general but these are really good.

Another product I found at Mom’s Organic Market, this time at the end of May. I combined this with Lotus Foods Organic White Jasmin & Forbidden Rice Blend (stay tuned for an upcoming review of this!) for a quick and easy, nutritious dinner. I enjoyed this heated in one of my pots. It has that familiar Hodo texture - chewy and moist - that I love. The Chinese five spice is pleasant and aromatic. It is made up of star anise, black pepper, fennel seed, cinnamon and cloves. I found it interesting that there is apple juice in the broth, but it works! Nutritionally, there are 2.5 servings in a packet, and each 3-ounce (85g) serving will give you 180 calories from 7g of fat, 12g of carbs and a whopping 16g of protein. It is also a good source of calcium and iron. Mom’s had these for 50% off (they do that every once in a while on regular products, and I love that) in May of ‘22. I love these sooooo much. I gobbled up the entire container in just one sitting!!! I got in a great amount of protein, calcium, and iron. I definitely want to buy these again.

Not very good. It was cheap (thank you Grocery Outlet) and good protein. Taste was just not great
