Chicken & Mushroom Pie

Quanto sono felice che nel 2024 si trovino facilmente dei pie inglesi vegani! Sono una cosa che ho sempre amato moltissimo mangiare nei rari viaggi in uk (non dirò che sono praticamente l'unico piatto tipico apprezzabile di questi luoghi ma ecco..🙃). La pie crust è spessa e croccante e il ripieno cremoso e gustoso. Personalmente sono sicura che se lo avessi mangiato da non vegana non avrei saputo dire la differenza tra questo e un pie con pollo vero. 🗓 agosto '24

Absolutely yummy, the best pie around. Great price too, I’m really glad this brand prices their food fairly and doesn’t increase the price on vegan products. £2 from Tesco

We’re back to pie season and I forgot how good this pie option was. Super easy and convenient and full of flavour.

I did not enjoy this, but I’ll put that down to personal preference. I suppose their aim was to have a vegan-friendly version of a chicken pie. If you’re after that meat-and-gravy taste then you could consider this i suppose. It just isn’t for me. It’s annoying that this company shares a name with the people behind Pukka teas, but they aren’t the same. Pukka herbs focus on organic teas, fair trade, equity of producers, and sustainability, while pukka pies primarily sell meat pies, and happened to have extended their range to include a few plant-based options. I hastily grabbed this and only realised much later that it was a meat company I was supporting. That’s on me, will be more mindful in the future.
