The #satay was incredibly good, even if they departed from tradition somewhat 😅 These #hericiummushroom aka #lionsmanemushroom aka #monkeyheadmushroom came out sizzling hot and crispy 😋 That flipped the script in a good way, I was raised thinking that the quality of a satay was to be found in how tender it was. This worked though!
The #sataysauce didn't work quite so well - it's supposed to be a #peanutsauce, but this one tasted so strongly of something else (curry? 🤨) that we wondered if it had gone bad. They also heated the sauce up to near-cooking temperatures, which I don't think is typical. It didn't work - the peanut sauce should have a cooling effect on the #fakemeat
